We have kind of been moving to a winner-take-all world for a while, but a decade after the recession the trend only seems to be intensifying. The McKinsey Global Institute did a pretty thorough job of looking at the phenomenon in a recent paper, making the case that we not only have superstar companies now (Hey Apple and Amazon!) but that we have superstar sectors too and that that s not a great thing for workers.
